Yizkor, "Remember" in Hebrew, is the Jewish Memorial Prayer.
We implore G‑d to remember the souls of our loved ones who have passed. Reciting Yizkor renews our connection with them, bringing merit to the departed and elevating them in their celestial homes. The main component is a private pledge to give charity in their honor. By doing so, we perform a positive deed, and the soul gains merit as loved ones are inspired to improve.
